There is a market everyday in one of the nearby villages where you can buy fresh local products including sun kissed fruit and vegetables of the season. We especially recommend the Monday morning market in Forcalquier. Provencal products such as honey, lavender, melons, courgettes and olives are widely available, and if you like you can pick the famous ‘herbes de Provence’ yourself. Make a reservation in our ‘Ferme Auberge l’Orangerie’ so you can enjoy a real farm-to-fork experience in a beautiful setting.

Do not forget to taste the local specialties such as the famous goat cheese from Banon, lamb from Sisteron, Pastis from Henri Bardouin in Forcalquier, nougat from Oraison, Calissons from Aix-en-Provence – and have you ever tasted fresh almonds? Even the renowned French confectioner ‘Doucet’ is a stone’s throw away. Finding a nice bottle of wine or a cosy restaurant is of course no problem – and we will be happy to advise you. You can even find a good bottle of extra virgin olive oil at the boutique in l’Oustaou d’Oulivie!
